SecureSystem brings Supply Chain Transparency to the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The SecureSystem solution successfully monitored transports for the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Germany to Asia and Africa. SecSys® CARGO devices are able to provide the required transparency for the ministry’s various shipments worldwide.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is dealing with sensitive cargo which must not be exposed to any unauthorized third party. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to exactly know what happened already while items are in transit. Theft is just one possible threat – even more severe is the potential infringement of integrity.
To maintain the cargo’s integrity, it must be assured that nobody had access to the cargo, thereby, ruling out any manipulation especially of electronic devices. With SecSys® CARGO applied to the shipping container, this important assurance is possible.
SecSys® CARGO, produced by SecureSystem GmbH, transforms ordinary shipping containers into smart connected assets, and generates data directly from the container in real-time and worldwide, including best-in-class door monitoring.
More than 40 million shipping containers transport $4 trillion of goods across the world every year. The SecureSystem – “In-transit visibility solution” enables advanced supply chain data collection and security monitoring for containers carrying high value or sensitive goods.
The system also provides real-time global visibility of a container’s location, internal condition, and physical integrity. The industrial-grade IoT technology, developed and tested by Airbus® Defense and Space, uses environmental sensors, physical security sensors, satellite, and cellular communication as well as GPS positioning to transform containers into smart, interactive units, allowing comprehensive data analytics. The portable design of the device allows the hardware to be attached to or removed from any standard container in a matter of seconds. The generated insights are delivered through a cloud-based data intelligence platform.
